Lenovo is going to launch the A7000 in India on 7th April, 2015 at an event in New Delhi. The phone was first announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona this March.
The phone has a 5.5 inch screen with the resolution of 1280×720 pixels. This takes the pixel density to an average 267 PPI. It runs on a 1.5GHz, Octa Core processor and is packed with 2GB of RAM. The phone comes with 8GB of storage, but a user can get fit in a microSD card of up to 32GB for more storage space. It is a Dual-SIM phone and is 4G enabled. The primary camera has an 8 Megapixel sensor with a LED flash. On the other hand, the secondary camera has a 5 Megapixel sensor. The device is powered by a 2900mAh battery. Along with the A7000, Lenovo had also announced the Vibe Shot at the MWC but that device is yet to come to India.
The A7000 is a successor to the A6000. At the time of its launch, the A6000 was the cheapest 4G phone to be launched in India as it was priced at only Rs. 7,000. The phone was sold exclusively on Indian e-commerce giant, Flipkart and we expect Lenovo to do the same with the A7000. The A6000 was sold out in all its flash sales held on Flipkart. Selling exclusively online helps companies cut down on costs of distribution, benefits of which are passed on to the consumer. The concept of flash sales were made famous by Xiaomi and many companies are following suit. As of now Lenovo is a big competition to Xiaomi. The company has launched a phone in every price segment to compete with Xiaomi. The A6000 takes on the Redmi 2 while the A7000 will most probably be a threat to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G.
